Fans of Scottish rock band Simple Minds are in for a treat when the popular group performs two shows at the Carnival City Big Top Arena on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 November.

Since first forming in 1977, Simple Minds music remains as loved and relevant today as it was then. Front-man Jim Kerr and fellow band members Charlie Burchill, Mel Gaynor, Andy Gillespie and Ged Grimes first formed the group in 1977.  Since then they have committed themselves to making music that is as relevant and loved today as it was 36 years ago.

Simple Minds have topped the charts for decades with songs such as the 1985 hit Don’t You (Forget About Me) from the film, The Breakfast Club, to the album Graffiti Soul, which rose to the UK Top 10 spot in 2009.  Simple Minds will perform all their greatest hits from all their albums, such as Belfast Child and Mandela Day.

The band headlined the Nelson Mandela ‘An International Tribute for a Free South Africa’ event at Britain’s Wembley Stadium in 1990, alongside Peter Gabriel, Tracey Chapman and Hugh Masekela, with the now freed Nelson Mandela in attendance.

The group is currently on a world tour packed with more than 80 concerts, and will arrive in South Africa.  From here they’ll travel to Holland.

The show starts at 20h00 and tickets are available from R288 to R543 at Computicket.
