ONE night MEAT Stand in SELBY
So has anyone heard of the trend overseas where shops are opened for a night or a weekend or one week only and then silently and slickly dissapear??? Its a worldwide phenomenon known as POP UP RETAIL – kinda like a chic mysterious fleamarket. Except that if you miss it you may never catch it again.

burgers have their eye on worldwide trends and have set up a POP UP ART GALLERY – it’s happening this week in the new hip Urban regeneration suburb SELBY (always head for the TopStar drive in its not far) on Friday night (the 1st April) so make sure to BE THERE. If you’re an artist and you’d like the chance to flog your stuff – it’s too late for this shindig – but you can always try your luck – number below.
Here’s the 411:
A group of people from the Ad industry decided to put together a non–profit nomadic exhibition for any artists out there that would like to put their work on display. This time round the theme is MEAT – it’s a ONE NIGHT AFFAIR and it’t taking place this Friday night.
The way it works is that you join the email list – then you get sent an email that tells you about the next Exhibitions theme and entry requirements – you then get creative and do it. They (the innovative Ad peeps) then curate the work that is sent in and decide who makes it in… The one night stand nomadic event then takes place – with usually about 300 – 400 people attending – completely wack off the wall DJs setting the tone and a well-stocked bar – you can also buy any of the Art on display (thats not sold already!) You shake your touche till the early hours and go home inspired to send something in next time.
By the way there is no COUVERT CHARGE. Its Free.
What we at REPRESENT love about these doo’s are the fact that they are using new, sometimes undiscovered non-gallery spaces that turn the whole concept of ‘Art Gallery’ on its head and translate into an Urban experience…
By the way – its too late for many of us non-artists to get it together – but there’s a t-shirt exhibition in two months time so get going and design…
