kers and artists and to encourage a film culture in Johannesburg.
The Cinema promises to showcase the best of local and international work from all spheres of filmmaking – content is invited from all aspiring film makers – no matter how short!
This project complements the two existing film festivals hosted by the school – one in June and the HUGE AFDA film Festival in November. Watch this space we will fill you in.
The AFDA Cinema was successfully launched last month and REPRESENT encourages you to support young filmakers by attending April’s Screening.
This month they start close to home – they are proud to bring you 4 outstanding short films produced and created by the film students at AFDA.
A brief synopsis:
Bobbie & Eric: 5 minute Animation about a relationship between a typical South African Gardner and the Owners Dog.
Through the Flight of Feathers: 10 minute Narrative Film – A story of township love. Staring Ayanda Sithole and Leroy Gopal.
Bloedgrond: 10 minute Afrikaans Narrative Film about a young man’s journey to find his real father and subsequently finding himself. Staring Wehemeyer Deas, Marcel van Heerden and Analise Bosch.
Fugative Pieces 10 minute Narrative Film following the story of a young police officer coming to terms with his strong feelings towards an illegal immagrant.
Once again it’s fabulara chipile but mind-opening entertainment highlighting and celebrating our cultural diversity – REPRESENT!
