MUSIC AND FILM IN MELVILLE – MON 27 June – It’s FREE!
In the first of many fabulous nights to come, you, our dear REPRESENT readers, are invited to the screening of two short films as well as a panel discussion by Eric Miyeni. There is also lots of music going on – from the HARD COPY musicians and a brand new band FREEDOM FIGHTER…

UM – IT’S ABOUT ORIGINALITY.
And You are cordially invited to a premiere screening of IMAGINE (South Africa, 10min, 35mm, 2005) starring Keren Tahor, Mark Dymond and Wendy Sarria. Written and directed by Eran Tahor, re-mixed and re-edited by Aryan Kaganof.
Plus the African premiere of MOST THINGS NEVER HAPPEN (Netherlands, 11min, 35mm, 2005) written and directed by Dick Tuinder.
These two magical short films are perfectly coupled in a double bill that explores memory, reality, and the essence of cinema itself. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion led by Eric Miyeni.
After the discussion HARD COPY soundtrack composer Joel Assaizky will
present a selection of his original compositions.
The evening’s finale will be the debut performance by FREEDOM FIGHTER, the poetry and music quartet that will be performing on July 6 during the National Arts festival in Grahamstown.
Venue is the NEW MELVILLE THEATRE, 7 Main Road Melville, doors open at
7pm, entry is FREE and the bar is open until deep into the night.
This event is the first of a series of monthly screenings that will be coupled with performances of original music, poetry and dance.
