USSR Smirnoff party -see the pics!

SEE THE USSR PARTY PICS HERE

Thanks to Smirnoff for the generous party at CItrus Lounge on Thursday night.
The diminutive young DJ AYSA from the USSR did a fine job considering she is from one of the cultures probably the furthest away from ours (and with a damn side colder climate) -she managed to keep up th…
e mood on the dancefloor post the Big Dawg DJ Fresh and even had some peeps getting down. She did go on quite early so we missed a chance to chat with her – well to her interpreter. Welcome to SA – we hope you had a good time.

Here’s our list of what we loved about the party:

1) Fantastic Ice Sculptures with exotic shooters (see pics)
2) Fabulous Cocktails and awesomely skilled MIXERS aka barmen/women.
3) Stunning white outfits on the girls at reception
4) Great venue – we love Citrus Lounge but most of all it’s owner Anton Noortman.
5) Loads of snacks – they kept on coming.
6) Five free drinks each – thanks again!
7) I think it was DJ Mbuso at the end – wow he was awesome.

What we think they could have done better… well – more bar space and some live entertainment to spice the house music up a a bit.

But overall thanks for a well-organised and sweet party and the generosity of SMIRNOFF.

THE U.S.S.R INVADES JOZI

We all know that Smirnoff parties are at the top of the social calendar in Jozi. What you might not know is that Smirnoff is serving up another experience to remember on July 7- Russian Style – the true birthplace of the world’s No. 1 vodka.

You have heard the rumour about how Russian girls like to party, now come and see for yourself. Catch one of the original party girls from Moscow – DJ Aysa on the ones and twos, and you can also check out some of YFM’s big boys behind the wheels of steel.

After a decade in the business, Aysa has really earned her stripes as the leading lady in uplifting funky house in Russia. She has played at the best clubs around her country and in 2003 was selected as the first Russian DJ to enter the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy which was held in Cape Town, South Africa. When the Red Bull Music Academy came to Russia, she was the official representative. DJ Aysa launched her own “Jazzy House” show on the most glamorous radio station in Moscow – Radio Jazz.

When we talk about the U.S.S.R, we are talking about the
Ultimate Smirnoff Social Revolution – this is a Smirnoff Experience, served just above zero degrees because any lover of Smirnoff knows that vodka doesn’t freeze!

Get out this winter. Come drink Smirnoff vodka in flavours you have only dreamt about, Eat Caviar, Go crazy!

Oh and don’t forget to listen to Nutty Nys on the Red House Show (YFM, Saturday at 19h00) because he has 20 double tickets to give away to the USSR~!
