Be at the Cultural Revolution in Jozi city – 26 July
After a number of vague murmurings of “SOMETHING BIG” going down in the city on a cold Tuesday morning next week, we finally have some more meat on this gig and can tell you all about it – If you have nothing to do on Tuesday 26 July at 9:30am get to corner Simmonds and Main and prepare to have a rocking time – the Crazy Monkey boys will be there, lots of musical collaboration going on, bu…
ilding abseiling, poetry, party, party, party
DONT FORGET YOUR LIPGLOSS LOVIES, all of it is being filmed:
Who’s Your Punk NOW?????
It looks like this:
A 25 metre SA flag draped from a skyscraper on the corner of Symmonds and Main street, downtown Johannesburg. The Time is 09:30 am, Tuesday 26 July.
WHERE ARE YOU?
You should be there to experience the unfolding of a youth culture project that everyone needs to be part of.
At 09:30, the flag will be unfurled. Models dressed in Loxion Kulcha and Ghetto Star gear will abseil down the Y of our national flag to a platform several stories below where ska punk heroes Fuzigish will be playing with afro funk legend Sliq Angel and switching microphones with Julius Makweru of Y FM and his slam poets. While down below on street level Brendan Jack of Crazy Monkey will be giving foot skating lessons. Why? Because the cultural revolution has begun. Because the time is now. Because this kind of collaboration, of cross over, of cross pollination is a small sample of what we have to offer in SA and its time we all stood up and took notice!
This is your notice, this is all the invitation you need. Don’t worry about whether you belong or not, just come on down and join in with us.
When: Tuesday 26 July 2005

Come and hear and be heard as we demand that SA take notice of the cultural revolution that is happening under their noses.
Don’t be formal, just be there.
