SYNOPSIS :
Set in the Cape Flats “Devil’s Lair” follows NTK (Nice to Kill) gang leader Braaim and his young family. The leader and his mates are navigating a violent landscape, where honour and betrayal are all too often sides of the same coin. Riaan Hendricks’s intimate portrayal of his childhood friend draws the audience into the claustrophobia of a drug den, contrasted with the dangerous chaos of the streets. It gives its viewers remarkable insights into a surprising world and forces us to question our own ideas regarding the relationship between violence, poverty, honor, love and free choice.
