We have to give a massive big ups to these guys for never giving up – seems like their time is now as their single “London out there” (video) gathers some traction in the UK where they are now based. They’re bringing it home in August and we have an awesome prize for a lucky Representah to celebrate their return: a Dorp goodiebag filled with: Limited edition CD single, 2 different limited edition vinyls, Dorp Sticker, T shirt and 2 tickets into a dorp show on their tour to SA… Awesome hey? Simply read the article below, email editor@represent.co.za with your name, age and cell number and answer the question: “What is the name of the brand new DORP single ?” (Clue: they’re coming to shoot the video here.) Read all about their backstory below. Following on from their hugely successful SA tour in December 2006 and the incredible response from radio to their previous single, “London Out There”, Dorp return to South Africa in August of this year for 8 date tour and video shoot AND to release their latest single , “Simon Says’. “As Kevin and I are from SA, we always like to return as much as we can,” commented lead singer Piet Bez, “But nowadays its also a business pleasure. We are so pleased that the South African music public has taken to our new music so well, and its great to play to a home town crowd. The best part is that our French DJ and English drummer also absolutely love it!” The tour stretches from Oppikoppi in the North, to Cape Town, back to Durban and returns to Johannesburg before August is out. The band will also be taking time out to shoot a new music video and the public is warned to listen out for the new single, Simon Says from their forthcoming album, on radio stations countrywide. Represent is loving: Robin Thicke
Move over JT, Robin Thicke is ready to be the new trousersnake. Could be a nice change. The 30 year old blue-eyed Canadian boy is currently filling our days with his sexy sounds (some boys may argue this point), if you’ve also been wondering who the gentle crooner is, make sure you put a face and name to the voice by watching the video of his acoustic hit song “Lost without you” right here.. We’ve already heard the track on YFM and seen his video on late night TV – we hope you’re loving his sultry style as much as we are… Hear his latest single “Can U Believe” here – ooooh we love that cheesy opening. Read all about Robin Thicke on Wikipedia. Get your hands on Robin Thicke’s album Evolution. Watch another video of a hairy Robin in 2002 before he got the slick Timberlake look here – “When I get you alone” – also sounds...
Mo’nique gives Paris a FAT Chance
While we’re on the topic of new TV shows, and rather than focus on the dreary ‘real world’ on this balmy Mon morn’, let’s amuse ourselves with larger than life comedian and actress Mo’nique and her new reality show FAT CHANCE taking place in Paris. We love it. A bunch of buxom ladies get to hang out and just be their fabulous voluptuous selves with Mo’nique in the French capital, telling their backstories, sharing their lives and celebrating being plus sized . Ultimately the ladies are competing for the title of “Miss F.A.T” , the show features them learning how to strut their booty with the goal of winning the “FAT” beauty pageant. Nice change. Mo’nique’s star continues to rise as her natural talent and exceptional goedspa see her diversifying into all kinds of ventures: “Mo’Nique has become a role model for voluptuous women everywhere, proving that you don’t have to be a size 0 to be sexy and fabulous. Her musings on life are featured in the best-selling book entitled Skinny Women are Evil published by Atria Books, a division of Simon & Schuster. Released in April 2003, the book quickly became a New York Times bestseller. She recently released with co-author Sherri McGee McCovey a follow-up called Skinny Cooks Can’t Be Trusted for Amistad Press, a division of HarperCollins. In addition to Mo’Nique’s F.A.T. Chance: Paris, Mo’Nique is currently hosting the VH1 hit Charm School. Recently Mo’Nique’s stand up comedy special I Coulda Been Your Cellmate aired on Showtime Television. The special was also released on DVD by Salient Media. Mo’Nique is currently shooting the feature film The Better Man opposite Martin Lawrence. ” Check out the show here and search YouTube for clips from the last few...
