You may know this lyrical gem from his column in the YMag – check out his live show at the State theatre. The Star gave him a good review – so we’re looking to them for quality guidance… The South African State Theatre, in association Kgafela Productions, will stage Kgafela oa Magogodi’s ‘spoken word theatre’ p…roduction, “i mike what i like.” The show also features the musical accompaniment of Ernest Mothle and the action painting of Msawenkosi Xokhelelo. Kgafela described the production as “experimental word theatre with a cinematic imaginary, the musicality of the word on a paintbrush splashing out shapes on canvas.” Kgafela oa Magogodi Kgafela was nominated for a Mondi Award in 2004 for his column The Spoken Word in Y magazine. He has also won the “Best Contribution of a Short Story” in Laugh it Off magazine. Ernest Mothle Bra Ernest Motlhe comes from a deep tradition of South African jazz musicians. This guy looks dodgy – watch SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT

Many innocent people are conned into believing and donating to corrupt Church bigwigs.. it’s so often the poorest and least educated amongst us that fall for their persuasive babble – next week Special Assignment takes us to Nigeria where 2 million worshippers – yes 2 million – come out to be healed by the miracles of American televangelist and sweet-talker BENNY HINN. How dodgy does he l…ook… “IN SEARCH OF A MIRACLE” This Tuesday a Special Assignment team joins 2 million worshippers at a miracle healing crusade in Nigeria. Many in the crowd have come hoping to change their lives through miracles. We watch as people take to the stage and proclaim that they are cured of ailments such as heart disease or arthritis. Is this truth or fiction? We let you be the judge. Lagos is the second biggest metropolis in Africa. Earlier this year worshippers from around the world attended a Miracle Healing Crusade hosted by America’s controversial televangelist Benny Hinn. In the US, Pastor Hinn’s lavish lifestyle has attracted much negative attention. According to recent reports Hinn ministries have an annual income of more than 100 million US dollars. Pastor Hinn received a hero’s welcome from those who came in search of a miracle. Despite its rich oil reserves and other minerals, Nigeria with its population of 130 million, remains a country plagued by corruption, crime and poverty. It is against this backdrop that charismatic churches with their promises of quick fortunes and miracle healing have mushroomed. The healing crusade took place at the campsite of the Redeemed Church, which has more than six thousand parishes in over 90 countries. Miracles and promises of prosperity are well received in Nigeria, where many people seem to have lost all faith in government. Orthodox clerics such as Father Gabriel Osu of the Catholic Church, warn against miracles-on-demand and a quick-fix for Nigeria’s problems. Special Assignment 21 June 2005 SABC3...
