Party People in Mozi, Jozi and CT
We told you they were gonna keep you rocking all year. DJ Khenzero takes his wicked event Party People and spreads the love to Maputo, Cape Town and Jozi this month. Wish we were there! This March Party People moves to Mozambique and without further ado Dj Kenzhero brings to you non other than Party People’s first song Bird Fifi along with the illustrious Simba and the Rocats. On the moonlit night of the 21st Dj Kenzhero will be bringing down the roof of a small place in the heart of Maputo called Gil Vicente. Doors will open at 10:00pm and a smooth R60, 00 get you through them. This one promises to be a tropical retreat that no-one should miss out on. THEN… Just a short week after coming back from a sun kissed long weekend in Mozambique, Party People moves on down to the mother city to host the third Party of its kind to reach this corner of South Africa. Friday the 28th of March 2008 will have residents of Zula Bar, situated on the long stretch of Long Street, skankin down to the smooth reggae sounds of Teba and his band, and of course to compliment the mood of the night Dj Kenzhero will do what he does best and that is to play his way through. AND FINALLY The very next day Dj Kenzhero presents another overwhelming Jo’burg line up. Starting off with a some what reminiscent sound of the night before, Zimbabwean born reggae musician, Rantoboko will open the platform for Brooklyn based rapper Wordsworth at Party Peoples first home, Roka. Indeed a balanced combination of the two acclaimed artists is something definitely worth seeing. R80, 00 presale, R100, 00 at the door. For presale tickets call Candace Allan at 072 314...
Nice Idea SABC3!
We’re suprised that SABC 3 is sticking to the oh-so-90s continuity presenter format, but at least they’re trying a fresh approach – the presenters will sport up-and-coming young designers creations in April giving them a brilliant (and much needed) opportunity to flaunt their work to the nation. Nice idea. Let’s hope they can carry it off better than some of their announcements. SABC3 viewers will soon witness their favourite continuity presenters looking poised to take the catwalk by storm, when they go on air sporting creations by new upcoming young South African designers. Announcing the exciting new development at Audi Joburg Fashion Week, organisers African Fashion International (AFI) confirmed they have inked an agreement with SABC3 that will see young designers from previously disadvantaged backgrounds showcasing their wares to the more than seven million viewers who regularly tune in to the channel. For an initial period of six months from the beginning of April, the presenters – Zinzi Zungu, Thuli Zulu, Liezel van der Westhuizen, Dennis Tau and Jason Greer – will wear innovative homegrown creations that are certain to complement the channel’s aspirational identity and add a sprinkling of glamour to prime-time...
