Represent! BearExpressions aka PhuzaFace
We’ve been waiting for the pics before we told you all about this… One of the highlights of the Design Indaba was an exhibition stall run by the FANTASTIC contemporary culture magazine One Small Seed in collaboration with One League – they did a little experiential campaign where the public were invited (at 9am I tell you!) to have a shot of Russian Bear vodka. You had to enter a little photobooth and sit down – as you took your sip and more than likely grimaced, they took a photo of your phuzaface (Phuza means DRINK in ZULU et al). The phuzafaces were then all photoshopped into mock covers of One Small Seed and the campaign is titled BearExpressions – see here – I believe the winning photo will be used as an actual cover of the next edition of One Small Seed which we await with bated breathe for. NICE ONE! The pics are well worth looking at – it’s a wonderful portrait of all kinds of South African’s hanging out at the Design Indaba. Keep up the great work ONE SMALL SEED! We will hopefully have an interview with Giuseppe Russo the man behind ONE SMALL SEED soonest – for now, know that it’s so worth buying – you can get them at odd places like Musica or DVD shops! Check out the website for distribution here.. Represent certainly...
Warp a celeb and more fun!
Ladies, do you think Brad Pitt is HOT? Stupid question right? Well, guys if you wanna finally be able to show gals just how NOT HOT Brad can be, then you have to check this site out http://www.bored.com/warpcelebs/; here you get to warp all the celebs that have ever made you feel green with envy or if you’re not the envious type and you’re just looking for a good laugh or you’re just bored (which is what bored.com is all about) just click on the link and have yourself a wonderful time. Some of the other really quirky things you can get up to is destroying websites, all you do is put in the website address and then choose your style of weapon (from acid, bird poop, dust, muddy footprints, hammer, ink, kisses, landmines, snow, time bombs, tomatoes and even UFO’s) and ‘kapeesh’ it’s destroyed (It’s really fun) Fun Drawings is all about making a drawing of a tree, a house or a person and having it instantly analyzed to assess your personality. This one was not so cool but I guess if you believe in random personality tests, then you’ll like it. Bad Spelling is an online spelling test. This one is really fun because it tells you the averages of words that people spell incorrectly and it gives you an opportunity to see all those funny words that are really simple to spell that always trap you… loved it! Wanna see if you’ll become filthy rich? Then take one of the money quizzes or a love and dating quiz, or movies, sport or health quiz. Some of these are kinda boring, but some are worth it, enjoy! Online craze – incredible beatboxing
Further to our article last week on the phenomenal French beatboxer Joseph, we have a whole load more unbelievable beatboxing for you to lap up on a lazy Friday pm…. the world is going crazy over beatboxing and YouTube is the medium. First off we’re actually going to start with a group of (very hot!) acapella singers from New York called Naturally7 who perform entire songs with only the human voice. They were in Paris recently and caused a huge stir on the metro when they broke into song or as the French say performed a “concert sauvage” – see the YouTube video below… if you watch the public around them, initially everyone is a little uncomfortable and then they get into it! Check out their MySpace site here where they performed with Lionel Richie..inspiring. What’s amazing about these guys is not only the fact they can sing and beatbox at once, but how well they manage to sing and even more than that how brilliantly they do it – you can’t believe it’s just their voices. Then there’s “Roxorloops” – “The hottest beat boxer in Belgium” see him performing in the French Beatboxing Champs here. Incredible. Well worth it. Talking of French Beatboxing, some of you may be familiar with France’s awesome HipHop band Saian Supa Crew one of Represent’s mosfave French artists…here we see “Sly the Mic Buddha” from Saian beatboxing with a guy called Qbert – awesome if you’re into scratching and beatboxing. Click here. *MUST SEE* A Represent reader reckons “Beardyman” is the shizzle – we featured him and his kitchen cooking before on Represent over here but here is a link to him at his best. And last but certainly not least, the nerdiest looking beatboxer ever from the UK Faith SFX watch him here – love the UK accent!!! BRUVA! Enjoy…. share your mosfave beatboxers with us here! *****************************************Merci to Aquoibon for the lead… If you’ve been watching West African idols or American idols you’ll know just how much unbelievable talent there is out there. This dude has to take the cake though – he’s a French guy called Joseph who is 21 years old and whose ability to beatbox and sing at the same time is blowing the world up! See his French idols – or NOUVELLE STAR as it’s known in French – audition here on YouTube. MON DIEU! Incroyable!...

Doggy Dog Style in Tokyo
One of the things that gave us a good lag in Tokyo was the doggy obsession – many owners treat their dogs as their precious children and dress them up to the “nine lives” 🙂 and carry them in blinging bags every day when they go out on the town. We saw a number of shops selling sexy doggy fashion – check out our pics of a doggie hoodie, a doggie carry bag, a doggy pram to push the less energetic pooch around in and more – Paris Hilton would go banana’s. Click right here to see our Flickr photoset fresh from Tokyo… There’s also an awesome article in PingMag which we are delighted to have discovered – bookmark this site – it’s an ” online design magazine based in Tokyo. Defining the term design as broadly as we can, PingMag writes about ideas and inspiration coming from both world class designers, and from the little store on the corner. We look at everything; product design, packaging, architecture, web design, typography, illustration, photography, fashion, programming, graphics, video, art, toys, traditional crafts, graffiti, set design…. anything, in fact, that we consider inspiring and we think will excite you too. ” Spend a bit of time checking out some of Ping’s design features… inspiring. Ping’s doggy clothing article features the most awesome photo’s of dogs in bomber jackets, kimono’s, smart casual… the article also directs you to the Japanese website for doggy Haute Couture called Nahomilly that sells alice-bands, doggy wedding outfits and believe it or not inflatable swimming arm bands for dogs. We never managed to get a photo but we even saw a guy with three ‘souped’ up dawgs in hiphop gear in Aoyama with all three dogs wearing sunglasses! No lies. Then there are the magazines that feature the latest in dog fashion, readers send in pics of their dogs looking fly! We found one called ANIMAL PEP but we can’t find it on the net so we can’t show you. You can also check out this Japanese website Gon Puti with the latest in pooch accessories and gear… WOOF WOOF! ...
