CHATEAU LIBERTAS – what a winner.

Some like to think of Chateau Libertas as this generations Tassies, a good, affordable (note not CHEAP) red wine that does the trick and leaves you with only a minor head throb….

We love the Sunday Times Lifestyle supplement and were delighted to find a delectable article this past weekend entitled “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” It’s an interview with Michael Bucholz who …
talks about the institute that is CHATEAU LIBERTAS – did you know that there are over 2 million bottles made a year and it’s all South African and that the brand was started in 1932?

We also found out that Chateau Libertas has also achieved SUPERBRAND status in South Africa – so it’s one of our top 100 brands.
.

A quick glance at the Makro site and we see a bottle (in a case of 12) coming in at only R22 – what a bargain… HOwever websites selling the wine to homesick South African’s overseas are selling them at around R75 a bottle – oh how is feels to live here within reach of a good girls night on Chateau.

So the good news is for those of you afraid of wine snobs looking down their woody noses at your bottle of CHAT, tell them where to stick it. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Click here for the article.
