In Love’s name – SA U2 fans demand a visit!
You have to love these dudes from the Karoo, they’re irritated that BONO does so much for Africa (not that part) but then that U2 doesn’t bother to include South Africa on their world tour. There is something in that… do they consider us as simple charity cases and not potential paying consumers? They should know us better than that! They have obviously been here before in the 90’s …
but that was a long time ago. Anyway, these guys have set up a site called WEWANTU2 where they ask fans to submit their name to their growing list so they can send it to U2 and demand a visit. Big ups to them for the initiative!
As they wait for the names to come in they plan on holding their own mini-U2 concerts around the country where they will show U2 live at their Vertigo concerts on “massive kick-ass” screens and everyone can pretend they are really there!

We from the Karoo had a dream. Tell those oakies from Ireland that preaching a better world is one, but when you go on tour and actually do not visit one continent during your world tour we found that a bit…. Especially when that continent is Africa. But, as they decided not 2 stop here we came up witha new idea. Like you have seen on the site. We put this up a week ago (we started in September last year). We are now waiting for those nice people at Universal Music whether we can put these (video) concerts together. If so, we will email our data
base (close to three thousand…) and see what the people have to say. If they respond positively we will put it together.
