Yip, at last the Loeries have flown the coop and escaped the confines of the Superbowl… but they haven’t just moved to ‘another venue’, they have taken it a step further and moved to sea, fun and sun… We’re not sure if everyone gets it, but it’s a tongue-in-cheek choice of venue, the old school holiday trailer park of Margate… Yes, it’s in Margate and it’s this weekend!
The Advertising and Marketising industry in SA is a cut-throat one with the highest standards of creativity and conceptual excellence, enough to kick any international campaigns ass. We wish all the finalists the best of luck. Check out the Loeries site for all the info you need!

Amidst whitened knuckles and gnashing teeth, Loerie Award winners will be honoured on two nights, Saturday 15 October and Sunday 16 October 2005, in Margate, KwaZulu-Natal. Win or lose, everyone is invited to join the celebration.”
This year’s Loerie Awards sees a radical departure not only in the venue of choice but in how the event will be configured.
The awards ceremony will be hosted in a cinema-style environment, and drinks and tapas will be served at a series of cocktail parties to be hosted prior to the awards show, with further food and drink available at after parties on both Saturday and Sunday evenings.
There’ll be cocktails and tapas from 5pm and guests will be expected to take their seats at the Awards Ceremony venue from 7.30pm. The Awards Ceremonies will run for approximately 2 hours, and both will be followed by an after party till the sun lights up the Indian Ocean.
On Saturday 15 October, Media24 presents KwaZulu d’Azur. Come in your best Cocktail Chic to celebrate the winning work in Design, Direct, Print, Posters, and Outdoor Advertising. On Sunday 16 October M-Net invites you to Black Tie Bling. So Buff your Rolex, get your heels out, and fetch the diamonds from the vault!
