Pretoria…or is it Tshwane Comedy Festival
Winter means Theatre is the new Picnic and discounted block bookings mean you can take the whole gang and your basket. For those looking for entertainment and *hopefully* a good laugh, make sure to book your seat for the upcoming jampacked Pretoria… or is it Tshwane Comedy Festival later this month at the State Theatre.
Have a close look at the line up – we’re not taking them seriously as you know comedy requires that we laugh at ourselves – but the different genres are pretty literal – “Hardcore” clearly means leave your Aunty at home (unless she’s dirrrrttty like that), “Black”, we assume means lots of our 11 languages being gooi’ed and “Afrikaans” means just that – Afrikaans only – with “in” jokes. Gotta love this place.
So we’d advise you to either practice your fake “i get it” laugh and leg-slapping routine or take a very talented and patient multi-lingual friend with u… hard choice. If you’re multi-lingual the Comedy Festival is your oyster. We’ll hopefully go to loads and let you know who our favourites were!
