SAUL WILLIAMS
A quick bit of extra information on Saul Williams who has just been confirmed for the festival:
Poet-actor-rapper-singer-musician Saul Williams is on his way to South Africa and breaking news is that this extraodinary artist will be performing at the upcoming OppiKoppi Rock Paper Scissor music festival on the 5th of August. Saul started mesmerizing audiences in 1995. In 1998 he landed a role in feature film SLAM and got to introduce his spoken word poetry to the world. He has become known to audiences in South Africa with the hit single “List of Demands”. As a musician Saul Williams has performed with renowned hip-hop artists such as The Fugees, Erykah Badu, De La Soul and rockers The Mars Volta, Rage Against The Machine and Trent Reznor. Saul has recorded 2 albums, “Amethyst Rockstar” as well as the critically acclaimed self-titled “Saul Williams”, and his music has appeared on several spoken word compilations.
Just like his writing and his music — a daring and courageous mix of connecting rhythms and vibrant images — Saul Williams is unstoppable.
