The Mzantsi Basement Jam is all about showcasing dope music acts that hold their own in the ever-vibrant Johannesburg underground scene. This will be third instalment of the show and just like the first two the idea is to showcase an unforgettable dose of local sounds varying from Rock to Hip Hop.

Concept:
The Proudly Mzansi Basement Jam is a live music show where we will have the cream of South African Artists performing live on Stage and ONLY SOUTH AFRICAN music playing all day and night long. We will incorporate the various genres of music in one big massive amazing show, the Whole theme is all about self-appreciation as a country and show-casing the diversities of our cultures and yet glorifying the way we live as one big RAINBOW NATION feeding of each other’s energies. This mixing of Styles and Cultures will lead to life long bonds being formed.

ABOUT THE EVENT:

The show is on Saturday 25th June and starts at 15:00 and runs until 00:00 midnight
Drinks and food the South African way is going to be on sale, Pap and Vleis, Boerewors Rolls, Samp, Dumplings, Mogodo etc.

The Location:
An underground parking lot, across the road from R A U and down the road from Campus Square. It is on the main road between Melville, Town, Auckland Park and SABC and is in the Student Capital of Jozi.

A Soul crooner whose name will soon be on the lips of many if responses to his performances are anything to go by. Currently getting a lot of airplay and he is about to drop his much awaited Debut Project

Dineo: Soul
Angel voiced Diva who is bound to make her mark as a African songstress, she is currently back up singer for Simphiwe Dana currently has a hit on radio

My Man: Hip Hop

A member of the most high profile rap group in South Africa Skwatta Kamp, My man is an original Basement Jammer having rocked the spot from the show’s conception. A lyrical wizard of note, he will be looking to put the audience under his spell as he usually does.

The Stoans: Live Jazz Band
I am sure we all know MXO by know and many would agree that the Ace in his pack is his live performances. The Stoans are the band he counts on to bring that sound to life when he is on stage and they will be giving a dose of their Jazz

Top Shayela: Hip Hop
Fashion Designer, Music Producer, Vocalist, MC who raps in Xhosa. Also noted producer who is currently working on a remix project for Sheer Sounds.

Touch is a Move: Hip Hop
Their song is on Radio and last week was the y-fm song of the week

Koolia: Ragga
Both a selector and a DJ, as always, his partner in crime Junior of Boom Shaka.

Black Jacks: Rock

Have you ever met a rock band from a township? It does not matter, whether you have or not, one can always do with a dose of live music from The Black Jacks
