Who’s messing with LOVEJOZI?
We didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when we spotted these “Fongkongs” or ripoffs of local design label Love Jozi being sold blatantly in the streets of Johannesburg at a third of the price of the originals – see our previous LoveJozi article here. The laughing part is that they’ve incorrectly spelt LOVE as LUV and the crying part is the quality of these shirts in no way matches that of the originals – no doubt some cats will scoop them up for the bargain. It’s wack. Oh well, as long as our awesome city is getting lots of Love… or is that LUV. We’ve contacted the LoveJozi team and await their response....
Party People featuring Herby Dangerous
What better way to get into the chilled out summer time vibes than a night with Khenzero’s Party People at Roka on Saturday the 27 October – R50 will get you in.. the rest is just great music and awesome Party People. This edition features Zimbabwean artist and producer Herby Dangerous. Herby Dangerous, one of Southern Africa’s dopest hip-hop/reggae artists, having been on the scene in Zim as a producer, mc and songwriter Herby soon realised his talent and skill as a reggae artist, destiny was fulfilled when he decided to bounce from Zimbabwe’s political tension and almost non-existent music industry to pursue a career as a producer in JHB, he hook’d up with Bionic who immediately identified the talent and signed a joint venture recording agreement for Herby’s solo records. Six months later, the album “in tune with the movement” is mixed, mastered and blazing ready for release, in the build up to the release Kenzhero has booked herby to headline and wow the audience at the much anticipated Party People on October 27th. This one’s gonna be...
The Ins and Outs of Ponte City Flats
We can categorically state that it is not an urban legend that Ponte City Flats has three-storey penthouses with (crusty now) retro carpeted walls. And that’s because on Saturday we went to hang out with all the adrenaline junkies who were abseiling and rap (?) jumping off the 54 floors of Ponte as part of a marketing stint to promote Ponte – And we got to explore the entire building including the penthouses and roof!! We can also confirm that Ponte has been bought and is being redone and fixed up and sold off… not chipile – but dang… those views. Rumour has it bachelor flats are going for round R400k furnished and bigger than that up to the millions – we can’t imagine what the penthouses will go for. Let’s not forget it’s one of the WORLD’s most iconic buildings, a darling of the global architecture community and probably one of the most famous addresses in Africa – so if you’re really into urban living and would like a view to die for – go and put your city regeneration money where your mouth is. You can see all the photos on our flickr site here and you can visit both of these websites to find out more and to set up your appointment to go and ogle Ponte. Enjoy! http://www.spacemarketing.co.za/ http://www.newponte.co.za/...
