You can do it! Spar Women’s walk / race / crawl…

Ok so December is only 3 months away – which means that if you want to get ready for skimpy summer clothing, best you get going now… THE SPAR WOMENS WALK/RUN (or crawl) is a great goal to aim for – it’s only R20 – LETS DO IT.

RULES
1. SPAR Women’s 10km Challenge is only open to female runners 15 years and
older.
2. SPAR Women’s 5km Run/Walk is open to females over the age of 9 years.
3. Your SPAR race number must be collected at registration at Old Parktonian
Sports Club on Thursday 13 October 12h00-15h30, Friday 14 October 12h00-
15h30 or Saturday 15 October 10h00-16h00.Your licence is to be worn on the
front of your running vest. Your provincial licence or temporary licence to be
worn on the back of your vest. NO NUMBERS WILL BE POSTED.
4. Age ID Category tags must be worn by athletes competing for age category
prizes on the front and back of their vests. Only licenced athletes qualify for a
category prize.
5. Proof of age to be produced on request on race day. Juniors to produce original
birth certificate or ID document.
6. No seconding is permitted and all runners must obey marshals and traffic
officers at all times.
7. Prize giving will be at 10h00 and only those attending will be eligible to
participate in the lucky draws. Live entertainment before and after prize
giving. Refreshments will be on sale.
8. Final results of the SPAR Women’s 10km Challenge will be printed in The Star
newspaper, and both the 10km Challenge and 5km Run/Walk results will be on
website www.spar.co.za
9. Pre-entries close 30 September 2005. NB: ONLY THE FIRST 5000 PRE-ENTRIES
WILL RECEIVE A T-SHIRT, TO BE COLLECTED AT OLD PARKTONIAN SPORTS CLUB
(Thursday 13 October 12h00-15h30, Friday 14 October 12h00-15h30 or Saturday
15 October 10h00-16h00).
10. Late entries will be taken at registration on race day from 06h00 to 07h45.
11. Time allowed for completing the 10km Challenge and 5km Run/Walk is 120
minutes.
12. Unfortunately no wheelchair athletes allowed due to the nature of the course.
No blades, cyclists or mechanically operated devices allowed in the race.
13. Held under the rules of A.S.A and C.G.A
14. Athletes not belonging to a club must wear the issued temporary licence
number on the back and the issued race number on the front of the vest (for
10km race ONLY).
15. Athletes may qualify for the open category plus the category they entered in.
16. Registered athletes must be a member of a club affiliated to ASA and wear
their club colours and the 2005 provincial license number on the back and the
issued race number on the front of the vest.
17. Objections must be lodged within 30 minutes (before or after prize giving) in
writing to the referees accompanied by R100 which is refundable if the appeal
is upheld.
18. A Mecer computer, printer and scanner for the school with the most pre-entries
(20+), by 30 September 2005. On completion of race only. Prize donated by
MUSTEK ELECTRONICS.
19. All participants with prams to start at the back of the field to avoid injuries to
athletes running.
20. Men allowed to run in drag only and are to start at the back of the race. Men
not to finish within first 10mins in both 10km and 5km.

21. Regret, athletes not allowed to participate with pets (dogs).
