e.tv launches a new game show, You Deserve It.

This Sunday, 22 September at 6:05PM we are in for a brand new game show on eTV.  Read details after the jump. e.tv launches You Deserve It, a brand new game show with a twist on Sunday, 22 September at 6:05PM. The principle of the show is that it is better to give than to receive and combines a format that features a game show and a reality show element. The contestants on the show do not walk away with the money they win.  Instead, they choose to play on behalf of a deserving beneficiary. The beneficiary has no idea, and does not have a clue of the money they stand to win. Only when the contestant wins the money, do they surprise the beneficiary on location. Powered by OMO, You Deserve It is hosted by Sydney Matlhaku in studio, and Nkanyiso Bhengu serves as the field reporter. How the show works Each week, the contestants have to resolve a who, what or where question with clues that are given to them. However, the clues are not free. The more clues they take, the less money they walk away with.  The goal is to guess the answers using the least possible number of clues in order to win the most money for the beneficiary.  So, it all comes down to the contestant’s knowledge, intuition and mostly, keeping a cool head under immense pressure. The contestant brings along two or three supporters who are there to guide and cheer them through the emotional decision making. “We welcome You Deserve It to e.tv, the game show is an exciting addition to the channel’s local content offering. The format of the show is unique and entertaining, and it helps South Africans who are in need. We are having fun changing lives and at the same time providing hope for those in need.” Says Monde Twala, e.tv’s Head of Channel. “You Deserve It is a perfect fit for OMO. OMO has always been closely involved with communities around South Africa, particularly in the area of education and child development. The ethos of the brand is about giving back, about making opportunities available and enabling people to strive for a brighter future.” Says Caroline Clayton spokesperson for OMO. Viewers will be kept on the edge of their seats from the first episode to the last. About the hosts: Sydney Matlhaku No newcomer to television; in 2001 Sydney Matlhaku co-presented Studio Mix Live. During 2004 he became the field presenter for Vicious Delicious, a Travel Magazine Programme and an anchor presenter on Selekta (a music request show) for the programme “GO”. In early 2005 he went on to become a game...
