l Department of Labour is offering learnerships leading to the FETC in Video and Television (NQF 4) as well as FETC in Performing Arts (NQF 4).We therefore seek applications from suitably qualified candidates with an interest in the film, television and performing arts industries.

Learners must be available full-time. Learners should be from KwaZulu-Natal.
A learnership combines work experience with classroom-based tuition. Learnerships are available to financially disadvantaged students from all backgrounds.

LEARNERSHIP 1: VIDEO and TELEVISION

Number of candidates required for Learnership in Video and Television: 30
This Learnership skills candidates in Video / Digital Film & Television
Production at entry level and covers training areas including Camera,
Editing, Scriptwriting & Media Law etc. Aspirant directors, camerapersons,
writers, video editors etc. are encouraged to apply.

LEARNERSHIP 2: PERFORMING ARTS

Number of candidates required for Learnership in Performing Arts: 20
This Learnership skills candidates in the Performing Arts at entry level,
with specific reference to Stage and Screen performance. Aspirant stage and
screen actors, dancers, singers etc. are encouraged to apply.

NB. Interested candidates may only apply for one of the above Learnerships.

1. All tuition fees will be paid.
2. Learners will receive a monthly allowance (stipend).

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Successful candidates will possess some of the following attributes:

a) Unemployed Arts, Communication or Technology Graduates.
b) Matriculants with creative flair and self-confidence.
c) Adult learners involved in the creative industries.

Preference will be given to candidates with proven communication skills,
creative flair and ability to innovate.
