BARGAIN HOLIDAY to Zanzibar – WOW!!!
We can’t believe the value for money offered by this 5 day trip to the heavenly island of ZANZIBAR off the coast of Tanzania. It’s from GETAWAYTRAVEL, the same people that run the highly respected travel magazine. You can go for 6 days G to paradise for R2790 which includes the flights and accommodation… There must be a catch – perhaps it’s the bungalows ‘built from natural materials such as palm leaves, local wood and coral stone’ although that sounds like our kind of holiday. It doesn’t include your departure taxes, so add on about R500 and neither does it include the visa payable on arrival of $50. Breakfast is included. It’s an incredible bargain… GO GO GO. Before the end of September. We did some research of our own to find out about the accommodation at the WHITE SANDS BEACH HOTEL – this is from VIRTUALTOURIST, our favourite travel tip site: The place has been taken over by a couple from Belgium, who have been renovating the entire place. If youre staying in the area and want to relax in a laid back atmosphere, this is the place to go. The food is excellent and even cheap. There is also a cheeky little monkey to keep you entertained. And finally, its clean and has mosquito nets set up by the cleaning staff before the buggers come out. Great atmosphere and service! Go to GETAWAY TRAVEL for more info. Valid from 16 July – 30 September 2005 6 days FROM ONLY R2 790 per person sharing 8 Days FROM ONLY R3 190 per person sharing Package Includes ** Flights from Johannesburg to Zanzibar on South African Airways ** Return airport/hotel transfers ** Accommodation at White Sands Beach Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis Package Excludes ** Airport departure taxes ** All items of a personal nature ** Meals not mentioned above ** Visa cost payable on arrival – $50 per person...

Every camera angle and motion transcends the screen and transports the viewer into Manuk’s world to experience life as he knows it. The story is so compelling and magical that the 3D animation becomes secondary to the delivery of the film.” Chris Bregler, SIGGRAPH 2004 Computer Animation Chair “The jury was especially taken with the convincing depiction of human facial expressions in this lovely animated story.” Prix Arts Electronica Jury, 2004...

This week’s film is a local one, THE FLYER, directed by Revel Fox and edited by Richard Starkey. Apple Park presents Film Club. It is for a training video. Emerging artists (especially) are encouraged to contact Nhlanhla on 011 340 3800 for bookings / more information. CHARACTER Breakdown… 1. Siyabonga Sibanda Black, Male Siyabonga Sibanda is about +/-45 years old. He is from a rural background and has been working in the city for a number of years. For the few years he has been running his own car wash business near to the urban hostel where he lives. He deals only with cars. He is still ‘in the old ways’ and believes that the safest place for one’s money is under the mattress. When he sends money home to his wife, he does so by putting it in an envelope, and sending it with someone who is travelling by taxi to his village. 2. Mmaka Madikizela Black, Male Mmaka Madikizela is about +/-30 years old. He is one of Siyabonga’s best friends. Mmaka lives in the same hostel. He is from a different rural area than Jerry. Mmaka was suspicious of banks until he listened to a radio programme one day when he heard what banks are, how one’s money can be kept there safely, and how one can get a bit of extra back if you always leave some money in your bank account. Because Mmaka is a confident and inquisitive person, he visited a bank after that. A person at the bank explained the different kinds of services that he can get at a bank. After listening very carefully, and asking some questions, he opened a savings account. He now has his wages paid directly into his account. He is saving to buy bricks for a house he wants to build his fiancýe. And he uses his bankcard to send money to his mother. 3....
